Qonnect

Collaboration, talk and hangout app for musicians and other artists.

Role - UX Designer

Timeline - 5 weeks.

Problem

Musicians often struggle to find other musicians to collaborate with and have limited opportunities to connect with their fans. Existing collaboration tools and social media platforms are not specifically tailored to the needs of musicians, making it difficult for them to find the right people to work with and share their music.

Context

Collaborations now account for more than a third of hit songs, according to data from the Billboard Hot 100, a weekly list of the most popular singles in the United States.

Reasoning

  • The music industry is Rapidly evolving, and there is an increasing need for musicians to collaborate and connect with each other to succeed. However, the current collaboration tools and social media platforms available to musicians often fall short in meeting their unique needs.

  • As a result, many musicians struggle to find the right people to work with, manage their music projects effectively, and engage with their fans.

  • By creating a user-centered app that specifically caters to the needs of musicians, we can provide them with a platform that allows for easy collaboration, project management, and fan engagement.

Problems with current Collaboration apps.

Limited opportunities to connect with fans

Most collaboration apps do not provide features that allow musicians to engage with their fans. Fans play an important role in a musician's success, and providing a platform for them to engage with their favorite artists can help build stronger connections and increase fan loyalty.

Limited search and discovery options

Some collaboration apps have limited search and discovery options, making it difficult for musicians to find other musicians to collaborate with. This can be a major barrier for musicians who are looking to connect and collaborate with others.

Complexity

Some music collaboration apps can be complex and difficult to navigate. The complexity of these apps can discourage musicians from using them, which defeats the purpose of having collaboration tools.

Lack of specific features for musicians

Musicians require features that allow them to easily share and collaborate on music projects, manage different versions of a song, and communicate with collaborators in real-time.

Why design thinking process?

Design thinking approach to emphasize empathy and user-centered solutions. This approach can be particularly useful because it allows for a deep understanding of the needs and experiences of those who will be using the app.

potential competitors

Each of these competitors provides different features and benefits, but they all aim to provide a platform for musicians to collaborate and connect with each other. As such, it is important for a new music collaboration and connection app to differentiate itself by offering unique and valuable features that meet the specific needs of its target audience.
